The Poland community passed a 2.75 mills levy in November 2022 that will allow WRJFD to transition from a volunteer (paid per call) department to a part-time 24/7 staffed department. Applicants must be at least EMT and Firefighter II certified in the state of Ohio, have a valid driver's license, and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Pay scale is as follows: FFII/EMT - $20/hr; FFII/A-EMT - $21/hr.; FFII/Paramedic - $22/hr. Additional pay is accumulated based on rank and additional certifications.
